Srinagar, June 23:

Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday condemned the killing of a policeman who was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Nowgam-Srinagar on yesterday evening.

In a statement issued here, Bukhari termed the dastardly attack as shocking and heart wrenching while expressing his profound condolences with the bereaved family.

He said that violence holds no validation in any civilized society and such acts have only worsened the situation in Jammu and Kashmir for long now.

“The forces inimical to peace have always tried to create a situation of fear and panic through bloodshed and killings of the innocent. This vicious cycle of death in J&K needs to end now. I utterly condemn this despicable attack and extend my sympathies to the family of the slain cop,” he observed.

Bukhari expressed his resentment over such inhumane incidents while asserting that many families have lost their sole bread owners to this senseless violence.

“The government must disburse adequate ex-gratia relief to the family of the slain cop. Many precious lives have been lost in these brutal acts and it needs to be  ensured that such heinous acts are preemptively impeded in the future,” he demanded.
