CSK vs GT, IPL 2023 Final Live Updates

The cut-off time for a 5-overs-per-side match is 12:26 am IST (May 29)

There will be no Super Over today as the match officials will wait for a 5-overs contest to get underway.

The match will head into the Reserve Day if even a 5-over match is not completed on Sunday.

Notably, there was a rain delay before the start of the IPL 2023 Qualifier 2 between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians. However, the rain relented after a couple of hours and the two teams played a full 20-overs-per-side match.

There is a lot of excitement surrounding this final, since many people believe it will be MS Dhoni’s farewell game. On the night of the game, Ambati Rayudu declared his retirement, and all cricket fans will be hoping to see their heroes in act.

As per the rules, if the IPL final is affected by rain or washed out on the day of the match, the game can be played on the next day, which is treated as a reserve day. But if the reserved day is also affected by weather conditions or is washed out, the team which ends in first position after the league round, wins the title. The defending champions Gujarat Titans had topped the points table after the 70-match league round, finishing as the only team to have won 10 out of 14 matches and 20 points. Chennai Super Kings finished second with 17 points.
