Prithviraj Sukumaran is likely to play the lead in the Malayalam remake of hit Bollywood film, Andhadhun, which released in 2018. Earlier this year, there were reports that director-producer Thiagarajan has bought the remake rights of the film and his son, Prashanth, will act in the Tamil version. Now, it looks like, the film will also be remade in Malayalam and it will be helmed by director Ravi K Chandran.
AHAANA KRISHNA AND MAMTA IN TALKS FOR ANDHADHUN REMAKE
Reports claim that Prithviraj has agreed to act in the film and has already started working on the pre-production. We also hear that actresses Ahaana Krishna and Mamta Mohandas have been approached to play the female leads. An official announcement regarding the cast and crew will be made soon.
It’s been only a month since reports surfaced on the internet that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been finalised to play Tabu’s role in the Tamil remake of the film. However, the makers are yet to provide details about it. The Telugu version of the film will be produced by Sresth Movies and it features Nithiin, Tamannaah and Nabha Natash in the lead roles.
WHAT ANDHADHUN IS ALL ABOUT?
Andhadhun, directed by Sriram Raghavan, follows the story of Akash (played by Ayushmann Khurrana) who acts as a blind person. He gets entangled in a series of problems as he accidentally sees the murder of a film actor.
The Hindi film, which hit the theatres in 2018 is billed as one of the best Hindi flicks in this decade. Andhadhun received rave reviews from critics and audience alike and also released in hundreds of screens in China and South Korea. It also won Ayushmann Khurrana his first National Film Award for Best Actor.
